The Welcome to Minnesotaville Tour!

THE BOB & THE BEACHCOMBERS WING OF THE MUSEUM OF ROCK & ROLL HISTORY

"Bob & the Beachcombers" gave new meaning to the phrase "Surfing the web" with the introduction of their four digital avatars in a photo that demonstrated the best way to cruise the Internet in 2007.

Bob & the Beachcombers

The summer of 2007 was fabulous. There was that centennial celebration in Akaska (population of 33), and an employee picnic for General Mills in Golden Valley for 40,000 people. Our third consecutive performance for the Minnesota Street Rod Association was a great success, our 10th year in Currie was the best ever, and return visits to Fulda, Lindstrom, and Eden Prairie featured plenty of sunshine & enthusiastic beach party crowds.

Some of our most memorable performances for 2007 were at county fairs in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Shows in grandstands at the Greene, Big Stone, Anoka, Winneshiek, Dunn and Pierce County Fairs put us in front of our favorite audience - EVERYONE! Teens and toddlers, moms and dads, and young adults and seasoned citizens, all enjoyed the rock & roll music, the contests, the sing-alongs and choreography, all of the Hula Hoops and beach balls, the super "Minnesota Surfin" sounds of the sixties featuring the best of the Beach Boys, and plenty of songs from "Minnesotaville" in our tribute to Jimmy Buffet.

The fun continued right into the fall and winter, highlighted by a trip to Bismarck and Bowman, North Dakota, that included a roller coaster ride off of Interstate 94 we'll never forget, and ending the year with a full house at the Dakota Sioux Casino in Watertown, South Dakota.
