Bob & the Beachcombers The year 2008 was an important year for the state of Minnesota as it celebrated it's 150th birthday since joining the union back in 1858. It was a big year for the Beachcombers, as well, when they represented their home state as the official Minnesota Sesquicentennial Rock & Roll band throughout the Midwest last year. What better way to celebrate everything "Minnesota" than by featuring the band that made "Minnesotaville!" a household name? In preparation for this historic event, we doubled-up our Hula Hoop stocks, ordered an extra 12 gross of beach balls, a hundred air guitars, two dozen rubber chickens, and thousands of Hawaiian leis.
